Allen was outboxed throughout his clash with Liverpudlian Price, and never seemed to be competitive.
After failing to get past the jab of the much larger man, Allen appeared frustrated and was cut above his right eye.
Going into the 11th round, Allen’s head trainer Darren Barker pulled the brave fighter out of the fight, awarding Price the win.

Allen, now 17-5 with three stoppage defeats, was challenging for the WBA inter-continental title against Price, who will now look to jump back up to challenging for world honours.
After the defeat, the ‘Doncaster De La Hoya’ posted a message to fans on Twitter to reassure them, after he was taken to hospital.
”Don’t want anyone to worry about me, just a hard man gone old and soft in the last 18 months,” he tweeted.
“Very happy and proud of David Price, I will be okay but the last 12 months or so my health has been deteriorating and I’m glad I hung on and took the chance and made money and now probably done.”

Before taking on Price, Allen was targeting a fight with former world title holder Alexander Povetkin, but now it appears that the Liverpudlian will take on that challenge instead.
Speaking after the bout, promoter Eddie Hearn discussed the injury and downplayed any fears.
“We believe Dave suffered a broken orbital bone and some damage to his tongue,” he said.
“He will know that it wasn’t a great performance.
“But he just didn’t seem himself, especially through the mid-range of the fight.

“I don’t know whether that’s because of the damage, the broken cheekbone - and just to fight on with a broken cheekbone is just madness.
“David Price schooled him, schooled him.
“I feel a bit for David Price, because everyone will either be talking about Dave Allen’s bad performance or the fact that he was taken away on a stretcher.
“But you’ve got to respect David Price’s performance, he stuck behind the jab, he controlled the pace of the fight, and you saw what it meant to him.”
