WWE 2K20: Predicting The 20 Highest Rated Superstars

Hulkamania' running wild yet again and 2K finally taking women's wrestling seriously?
    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
It's been said a thousand times already, and it'll be said a million times more before release. This is a big year for 2K's WWE franchise. They simply cannot afford to muck it up and have Yukes breathing down their necks, especially with the Japanese publisher offering their own alternative.
Literally everything must be spot on in 2K20, and that includes the roster ratings.
You know how it goes by now. Every summer, 2K leak details on the roster ratings and social media blows up with criticism; whilst one person argues about Roman Reigns being pushed to the moon as one of the top characters again, another can be found bemoaning the lack of progress for hardcore faves from NXT. It's tough for developers to get this right, but guessing who will be near the top is a ton of fun.
This list will divide opinion, and rightfully so. It predicts the top 20 men, women and Legends (only Legends who have been announced are included) who will be floating eerily close to that impossible 100 mark. Who will be in the high-80s, who will peak towards the mid-90s and who will come within touching distance of a perfect score? Read on to find out...

    20. Ricochet

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 85
Last year's 82 is about to be trumped by a three-point upgrade for WWE's new high-flying sensation. After being DLC in 2K19, Ricochet will on the main roster this time, and he'll likely be one of the better speedsters in the game.
It was tempting to guess that he'd be in the high-80s at first, but a solid 85 seems the most plausible score for the former United States Champ.

    19. Samoa Joe

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 85
Samoa Joe is going the opposite way, sadly. It might seem controversial, but the Coquina Clutch bad ass is heading for a ratings drop in 2K20. Although he notched an 88 last time, that had a lot to do with his status as WWE Title challenger over the Summer of 2018.
2019 hasn't been quite so kind to Joe. Yes, he's cutting some of the best and most believable promos around, but he's settled snugly into the mid card, and that's where he'll be in this year's game. At least matching him against higher-rated wrestlers will be fun.

    18. The Miz

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 86
The Miz will float around the mid-to-high-80s for the remainder of his WWE career. He's the kind of worker in real life who can lose matches without shedding credibility, and it's the same in video game land. An 86 score (same as last year) sounds fair for WWE's reality TV star.
Hopefully, his character retains some heelish traits too so he's not all nicey-nice.

    17. Drew McIntyre

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 86
Here's another jump, this time from 'Scottish Terminator' Drew McIntyre. He's sorely overlooked on TV by WWE bigwigs, and that'll carry over into the game. At least his score of 83 in 2K19 should become a distant memory.
Drew has done more than enough in matches against Roman Reigns, The Undertaker and more to deserve a jump up to 86. If he can become the main event star everyone knows he can be, then there will be better things to come in next year's 2K release.

    16. Kevin Owens

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 87
KO has brought his career back from the brink, trading lower-card mediocrity for a high-profile feud with Shane McMahon. Unfortunately for Owens, that might not be enough to prevent a one point drop from 88 to 87 in 2K20.
Look on the bright side: his character will use Steve Austin's stunner this time. That finisher might make it worth picking Mr. 'Fight Anyone' regardless.

    15. Shane McMahon

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 87
    Oh dear.
Yes, it's true. Shane McMahon is likely to rise up a whopping six points in 2K20 and grow from 81 to 87. Will this make anyone happy? No, not really. Will that stop it from happening? No, because 2K mimic what's happening on WWE TV, and Shane is presented as a match for almost everyone he wrestles.
At least you can throw him off high things to stop him from crowing about being 'Best In The World'.

    14. Mankind

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 88
Mick Foley's Mankind character was one of the first Legends to be announced. He's also the most likely to have the lowest rating of the four 2K detailed in their newsworthy press release.
This is Mankind's first appearance since 2K18 (he was left off the 2K19 roster for...some reason). Two years ago, his model carried an 89 rating. This time, it might be slightly lower at 88. Why? Well, there is actually a reason this time...

    13. Bray Wyatt

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 88
    Parity.
Bray Wyatt's monstrous new gimmick hasn't really got going yet, but he has been attacking legendary names like Mick Foley and Kurt Angle recently. That doesn't necessarily mean his character will be one of 2K20's strongest though. 2K may hedge their bets and make him slightly weaker than most anticipate.
88 sounds about right. That'd keep him even with Mankind (meaning the matches would be competitive and tasty to play in-game), and it'd also represent a one point improvement from last year's game.

    12. Randy Orton

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 89
Bray's old stablemate-turned-rival is always going to skirt near the 90s in WWE games. He's one of the promotion's most established stars, is a firm favourite to play as because of his snappy RKO finisher and is Mr. Reliable in Universe Mode whenever a title challenger is needed.
89 would be slightly better than the 88 Randy received from 2K in 2K19. That's OK; it's a good idea to ensure stalwarts like him remain tough to beat.

    11. AJ Styles

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 89
Sorry, Styles fans, but AJ isn't coming anywhere close to that 91 he had last year. That lofty rating owed a lot to his status as the game's cover star, and it reflected his top babyface mojo. Those days are over for now. Today, Styles is a member of The O.C with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
That may mean he's heading for dropsville, maybe by as much as two points.

    10. Charlotte Flair

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 89
Last year's ratings for the women were atrocious. 2K bought into the idea that the ladies couldn't joust with the guys, which is preposterous in a video game, and that meant top all-rounders like Charlotte Flair suffered the indignity of a low 85 rating.
That's silly considering she's a headline attraction. This year, it'd be nice to see Flair rise up to something more respectable, like an 89 for example. That'd do her proud. Who cares about gender division in this series these days anyway?

    9. Chyna

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 90
This will be the first time fans have been able to play as Chyna in a WWE video game since 2000's SmackDown: Know Your Role. She needs a high score then, and 90 could be just the ticket to reward Chyna's fan base for their remarkable patience.
She was a trailblazer, one who often wrestled the boys, and that will make the new Mixed Match Challenge mode fun if 2K let men and women interact.

    8. Becky Lynch

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 90
'The Man' Becky Lynch is one of two cover stars for 2K20, and deservedly so. What a year she's had. Between headlining WrestleMania 35, appearing on magazine covers aplenty, winning titles, breaking down barriers and now gracing the box art of 2K's game, Bex is on (straight) fire.
There's no way she's getting a naff 83 rating like last year. Surely.
As the undoubted on screen leader of this 'Women's Evolution' movement, Lynch deserves to be a 90. That'd keep her level with Chyna, slightly ahead of Charlotte Flair and in the mix for the top eight stars in the game.

    7. The Undertaker

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 91
DONG! No, Virgil isn't in the area, it's The Undertaker.
Despite creaking his way through some recent matches (although he did look good at Extreme Rules in that fun tag romp) 'Taker's near-mythical status in WWE will be rewarded in 2K20. 2K19's rating was solid at 87, but there could be a rise on the cards, especially if he's creeping towards that elusive Hall Of Fame spot.
Stay tuned for that. If it's going to happen soon, then he'll become a titan of the video game realm again.

    6. The Rock

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 91
In 2K19, ol' Dwayne Johnson was the joint-best male superstar in the game alongside Brock Lesnar. Both received a big 93 score, and that raised some eyebrows when the ratings were released. Come 2K20, he should drop a few points to 91.
2K can always make his classic model higher if they like, but modern-day Rock is not deserving of being the highest-rated stars in these games anymore. His fans shouldn't be worried. Even if Rocky drops a point or two, he'll still be up there near the top five.

    5. Seth Rollins

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 91
Up there near the top five without being in the top five.
Seth Rollins, a super worker for sure, is more fitting there. As much as it's true he could share the same 91 overall with The Rock, the fact is that Seth should have a few key attributes that make him slightly better. Speed, for one, and maybe some other technical skill like chain wrestling and high-flying moves too.
2K18's cover man is this generation's Bret Hart. He can work with anybody, has a good connection with the audience and excels when the bell rings. That'll be true in 2K20 as well as in real life.

    4. Hulk Hogan

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 92
Well let me tell you something, brother! Hulk Hogan, who's making his first WWE game showing in several years, will definitely be one of the best characters in 2K20. The developers are self-confessed fanboys for the golden era of WWE, and Hogan is someone they'll have grown up watching.
Don't expect him to have the high 84 score he did in 2K14, but do expect Hulk to be there near the top of the list.

    3. Braun Strowman

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 92
It's been a strange year for Braun Strowman. People do take Braun seriously as a threat, and he is over. Somehow, that hasn't all equated to title success. The good news? You'll be able to put that right in 2K20, because Braun will be one of the game's best.
89 never felt high enough for him in 2K19. This time, despite the troubles his character has had lately, 2K have the chance to put things right. To hell with WWE creative and their senseless booking of the big man. He's a powerhouse like few others, and his brute strength, look and affinity for set piece bumps makes him ideal for video games.
    92, please.

    2. Roman Reigns

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 93
    Surprised? Few will be.
Becky Lynch's cover cohort Roman Reigns had a 92 rating in last year's game. The bold prediction here is that 2K will reflect his box art status by raising that a point to 93, thus making Roman the second-best wrestler in the game overall.
There's zero chance he's dropping outside the top two or three. Reigns, whether some like it or not, is a stick-on success in WWE video games. 2K know it, he knows it, WWE know it, fans know it. Everybody knows it.

    1. Brock Lesnar

    WWE 2K20
    2K Games
    Predicted Rating: 94
    The best is 'The Beast'.
As aforementioned, Brock Lesnar shared top spot with The Rock in 2K19 by logging a 93 rating. One gets the feeling that 2K will raise most ratings across the board this year (especially for the top 10), and that means Lesnar will go up to a 94.
He has to be nigh-on impossible to beat on higher difficulties. His 'Suplex City' domination and squash match style on TV must also be part of his character ability set in 2K20. Choosing to play as Brock should always come with some big benefits.
